The Pathway to 144 Mental Health Beds Project is a direct response to the recommendations arising from the Interim Report of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System which called for an additional 144 acute inpatient public health beds to help address critical pressures within the mental health system of Victoria. The Royal Melbourne Hospital has been selected to deliver 22 of these beds.

Lanec Services, under the Electrical Contract won by Fredon Electrical, has been awarded the security portion of this project. Lanec’s intimate knowledge of the site and comprehensive design brief helped to secure the works.

Under this contract Lanec will be responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of the Security & Access Control system along with the VMS & CCTV including the active Cisco field network Switches and IP Intercom system.
